Introduction to Sendai
Sendai is the capital of Miyagi Prefecture and the largest city in the Tohoku region, located in the northeast of Honshu Island.It is one of Japan’s fastest-growing and most charming cities.
With around one million citizens, Sendai is the largest city in Tohoku (the northeastern region of Honshu Island). Sendai is an old, historical castle town developed by the samurai warlord Masamune Date.
The city possesses beautiful scenery, such as the Hirose River that runs through central Sendai, and the lush zelkova trees that line its streets.
Greenery is especially abundant in the center of the city, which has tree-lined streets and parks. As a result, Sendai is called the “City of Trees.”
