Introduction to Sendai


Sendai is the capital of Miyagi Prefecture and the largest city in the Tohoku region, located in the northeast of Honshu Island.It is one of Japan’s fastest-growing and most charming cities.
With around one million citizens, Sendai is the largest city in Tohoku (the northeastern region of Honshu Island). Sendai is an old, historical castle town developed by the samurai warlord Masamune Date.
The city possesses beautiful scenery, such as the Hirose River that runs through central Sendai, and the lush zelkova trees that line its streets.
Greenery is especially abundant in the center of the city, which has tree-lined streets and parks. As a result, Sendai is called the “City of Trees.”
Sendai has many universities and is also well known as an academic city. Its universities and research institutes have been contributing to the development of the high-tech industry.
Sendai also values history and culture. Many traditional events such as the Sendai Tanabata Festival continue to this day. The Sendai International Music Competition and the Johzenji Street Jazz Festival are also held in the city, along with many theatrical performances.

t issues its own local currency, the YEN. It has a fixed exchange rate system with the Bangladeshi TAKA, where 1 TAKA = 0.75YEN(Exchange rate is not fixed). Before entering the country it is recommended to exchange money from Taka at banks or Money exchang store in Dhaka, but please be aware that there are cases where it is not possible to exchange money from high-denomination banknotes credit card
